Great Yellow and Swallowtail announce strategic partnership

Nature finance startup, Great Yellow, and specialist nature-based solutions consultancy, Swallowtail, have announced that they are joining forces to build a stronger, more connected nature finance ecosystem.

The collaboration combines Swallowtail’s landowner-led expertise in early stage project design and stakeholder engagement with Great Yellow’s multidisciplinary experience in capital raising, corporate and government engagement, and scalable implementation.

Together Great Yellow and Swallowtail are at the vanguard of nature finance and landscape recovery, helping clients with project design, capital raising, revenue generation, monitoring and reporting, and all points in between.

Norfolk-based Swallowtail is a spin-out from the Wendling Beck Project, a collaborative, landscape-scale nature recovery project and the largest BNG supplier in England. Great Yellow was founded in 2023 with the aim of accelerating the economic transition to regenerative land use systems.

Great Yellow and Swallowtail’s combined portfolio of projects currently span over 300,000 hectares, including over 40 per cent of Defra-supported Landscape Recovery projects nationwide. Between them, they have transacted in excess of £58m across all key natural capital revenue streams, including BNG, Carbon, natural flood management and nutrient neutrality.

Ed Dick, co-founder and CEO at Great Yellow said, “Formalising our partnership with Swallowtail feels like a natural alignment. Their regional expertise and deeply relational approach complements our work; we’re excited to combine our strengths to continue scaling new land use systems that deliver both sustainable economic returns and environmental regeneration.”

Glenn Anderson, Director of Landscape Recovery at Swallowtail said, “By joining forces with Great Yellow, we’ll gain additional resources to further enhance the value we deliver to our clients. Ed and his team have made impressive strides in nature finance – a space where the industry as a whole continues to evolve and innovate. Together, we’re excited about the opportunities ahead and look forward to contributing to the growth and success of this important sector.”

Great Yellow and Swallowtail will continue operating under their own brands, bringing the best of their teams’ respective skills and experience to clients.
