First Milk and Nestlé were awarded the Collaboration and Partnership award at this year’s Food Manufacture Excellence Awards.
The award was in recognition of the 20-year work between the two organisations to establish the Milk Plan, which focusses on improving the environmental and social impact of First Milk farmers. The initiative works across Nestlé sites in Girvan and Dalston and involves 83 dairy farmers.
Nestlé Responsible Sourcing Manager Sobia Naheed said, “We are honoured to have been recognised alongside First Milk for such a prestigious award. It is testament to all the hard work which has been done by the teams working together for two decades and recognising the importance of sustainable farming practices.”
First Milk’s Head of Regenerative Farming Lee Truelove added, “We’re thrilled to have been awarded the Collaboration and Partnership Award alongside our longstanding partners. We’re rightly proud of the hard work of our farmer members to meet the highest environmental and sustainability standards, and really value the collaborative and forward-thinking partnership we have as a business with Nestlé.
The Food Manufacture Excellence Awards annually recognise corporate and individual excellence in food processing at all levels and the finals took place at the London Hilton Bankside on Thursday 8th February.
