The Housing Secretary, Michael Gove, has announced a potential watering down of the nutrient neutrality requirements for new housing in England. Mr Gove has said that legal requirements on house builders to offset nitrogen and phosphorus pollution will no longer be required – instead the burden of responsibility will shift to Natural England and local authorities.
