Analysis by the Global Alliance for the Future of Food and Dalberg Advisors finds that food systems account for at least 15% of fossil fuels used annually. This report is the first time that researchers have focussed on fossil fuels, rather than simply emissions, and estimated their global use across the entire food system.
To discuss the report and some of the issues it raises, ffinlo Costain is joined by report author, Patty Fong from the Global Alliance for the Future of Food – by Sue Pritchard, the chief executive of the UK Food, Farming and Countryside Commission – and by Karl Williams, a director of food systems consultancy, FAI Farms.
